Happy February to the Fighting 48th! As we continue to journey through 2026, I wish you all happiness, peace, success and safety. It is my pleasure to represent the 48th Assembly District in the California State Legislature. This term serves as my 10th year as a Legislator in the California State Assembly. It is an honor to serve over 498,000 residents in our district and collaborate with nine cities in the San Gabriel Valley. I am excited to share our January 2026 Newsletter and ensure our communities stay up-to-date with state related matters.
District Updates
Young Legislators Program, Mad City Money
![]() |
This January, our Young Legislators Program started up again! Their first program experience was Mad City Money. My office and I partnered with Rize Credit Union to bring our students an interactive and informative way of developing financial literacy. These skills are critical, especially ahead of big life changes like college, first jobs and paying bills. Financial literacy is a huge advantage to growth and self-mastery and advancing our youth’s understanding of it is a powerful tool we can add to their tool kit. I am super grateful to our friends at Rize Credit Union for helping make this possible. I am thrilled to see these students gaining skills that will serve them for years to come. It was a fun and meaningful way to welcome our 2026 cohort, stay tuned for what’s next.
Route 66 Monument and Centennial Anniversary

This month, the City of Azusa unveiled it's first monument and mural celebrating and commemorating the Centennial Anniversary of Route 66. Stop by and experience this new landmark, and maybe even catch a picturesque skyscape such as this one!
Glendora Hills Pet Hospital Ribbon Cutting

A warm welcome to Glendora Hills Pet Hospital, and congratulations on the opening of its facility. Thank you for the dedication to keeping our beloved furry friends safe, happy, and healthy. The city of Glendora is grateful to have you as part of the community.
CHP Officer Davila Promotion

Congratulations to California Highway Patrol (CHP) Officer Davila on the promotion to Sergeant. The CHP is fortunate to have such a dedicated leader, and our community is grateful for your continued service and partnership with our office at local events.
2026 Woman of the Year Nomination

My office is now accepting nominations for the 48th Assembly District 2026 Woman of the Year! Each year, the California State Assembly recognizes exceptional women across the state. Our office will be recognizing a handful of women that have made outstanding contributions in our assembly district. Please, feel free to nominate those women you see making a difference in our community.
Legislative Updates
The Legislature is on an upward trajectory, moving quickly during the second half of a two-year cycle. This means anything that wasn’t solved during 2025 is on the table. If a bill needed extra work, this is the year for it to be worked on. February 16 is the last day for a bill to be introduced, which means my staff and I have a few short weeks to analyze proposals and introduce pieces of legislation. As our bill package is finalized, you will be updated with helpful information on the various measures. Stay tuned!
CalFresh Fruit and Vegetable Pilot Project
The CalFresh Fruit & Vegetable (CF&V) EBT Pilot Project restarted on November 17, 2025. Eligible CalFresh households will once again receive a dollar-for-dollar match up to $60/month when purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables at participating retailers and farmers’ markets. You can now start earning incentive dollars at any Mother's Nutritional Center. You can spend your nutrition incentive dollars that you have earned anywhere you can use your CalFresh EBT card. For more information, please visit the Mother’s Nutritional Center website.

DROP: A Free and Fast Way for Californians to Protect Their Privacy

Californians now have a simple, free way to protect their personal information with the Delete Request and Opt-out Platform (DROP), a new tool from Cal Privacy. Instead of tracking down hundreds of data brokers that collect and sell your data, you can visit one state website and send a single request directing all registered data brokers to delete your information and stop selling it.
Using DROP can help reduce spam and scams, limit tracking and unwanted ads, and shrink your digital footprint, all while keeping your information secure. Data brokers start processing requests August 1, 2026. Get started today: privacy.ca.gov/drop.
